Note that the file size limitation varies between service providers. Some allow only multimedia content that does not surpass 300 kb, others allow 1000 kb, or more. With images, this could be satisfactory, but with video files, the user must carefully observe the length of the file, not to allow it to surpass the kilobyte limit. Generally 2G networks, like GSM had more limitation on the file size of MMS messages. With the introduction of 3G, such as the UMTS network, there is now more room for attaching larger files up to a few megabytes. This allows lengthier videos to be sent to other mobile phones that also use 3G networks.
