SMPP SMS

SMPP SMS is a message sent with the Short Message Peer to Peer (SMPP) protocol, which is an open, industry standard protocol. SMPP provides a flexible data communication interface for the transfer of short message data between External Short Message Entities (ESME), Routing Entities (RE) and Message Centers. SMPP can carry all types of SMS messages, just like UCP/EMI.

SMPP SMS is the most common type of IP message sent through a leased line or the Internet. The advantage of SMPP protocol is that it maintains direct connection with a Short Message Service Center (SMSC). SMS flow and delivery becomes fast and continuous enabling the transfer of 500 SMS per second. This amount of message delivery option replace the SMS functioning in mobile marketing and business. SMPP SMS sending offers a solution for business and marketing communication with its reliability and high speed service.

If SMPP SMS is to be sent by the SMPP protocol to the mobile network, you need to get the following data from the service provider: IP address of the SMSC, Port number of the SMSC, User name, Password. After configuring the SMPP link, you can start SMPP SMS messaging. SMPP SMS is transferred the same way as other IP SMS messages. The user sends the short text message from the SMS gateway with the help of the SMPP. A VPN is responsible for protecting the data transferred to the SMSC. The SMSC of a mobile network transmits the SMPP SMS to its target, the recipient's mobile phone. The popularity of is a safe and fast transmission.

To receive SMPP SMS messages via an SMS service provider who supports the SMPP protocol, a virtual number (IMSI) is needed to be setup. SMPP messages can be sent to the IMSI. The virtual number can be an international number, national number or a shortcode. Your service is available only within the country whose national number or shortcode is used. Whereas using an international virtual number enables the users to have access to your service from other countries. When someone sends an SMPP SMS to the international virtual number, the message is routed automatically to your SMS Gateway installation through the SMPP link.
