Bulk SMS GatewayBulk SMS Gateway means SMS delivery software that enables a large number of SMS sending from computer to mobile devices. It manages thousands of SMS messages at once with a store and forward application. Bulk SMS Gateway specializes on bulk SMS sending, where the thousands of SMS with varied contents can be delivered within a short time. Bulk SMS Gateways are suitable for users with large contact lists and various types of information. They can achieve a fast, reliable and relatively cheap solution by installing the Bulk SMS Gateway software. Among the advantages of the gateway is that it can use wireless or web based connection to deliver SMS messages. Bulk SMS Gateway requires a personal computer (PC) connected to a GSM/GPRS modem or mobile device in case of wireless or GSM SMS sending. The PC to phone connection is provided by a data cable (Infrared, USB cable, RS232 cable or Bluetooth). The gateway sends and receives SMS messages through the modem or mobile device that transmits the messages to an SMS Center (SMSC), which delivers it to the recipient's handset. This way, 6 SMS per minute can be transmitted. Bulk SMS Gateway is also able to send SMS messages via the Internet. To do so, a computer with the installed software and web connection is needed. The gateway communicates directly with the SMSC and delivers messages at a high speed. The capacity of SMS sending increases to 500 SMS per second. To send SMS on the Internet, users need to sign a contract with their GSM service providers. Once when they have the contract, users receive an IP address, a port number, a username and password to access the service. Bulk SMS Gateway gives the opportunity to send mass messages to contacts without much effort. The gateway enables users to send bulk messages in different ways. Messages can be imported from a datasheet or created and inserted into a database. If users want to import messages the datasheet needs to be saved in CSV (comma-separated values)file format. Configuration is needed in the Bulk SMS Gateway to manage CSV. Then the CSV file is pasted to the folder where outgoing SMS messages are stored and sent from. Sent messages appear in the "Sent" folder of the Bulk SMS Gateway. Bulk SMS Gateway also allows sending messages from a database. In that case the system is connected to a database server (e.g.: Oracle, MySQL, Access etc.). Data tables are created for incoming and outgoing SMS messages. A database user is also installed to operate the structure. The database should contain phone numbers and text messages which will be sent to the recipient mobile phones. The message status can be followed to check if all the SMS are received. To get more information, please visit the following websites: |
